Comment on the Critique of the 1964 War Plan by Peter Veleff and Hans Werner Deim23 May 2000 |
Description:
This comment by Petr Luňák is in response to the critique of the 1964 War Plan by Peter Veleff and Hans Werner Deim. Luňák points out that in post-Communist archives, documents have often been haphazardly taken from their original location in an effort to create a subject file. Luňák states that this Warsaw Pact collection was created in the Czech Republic in precisely such a way. The result was that documents like the War Plan 1964 have been stored with documents that have little relevance to it. He states that during research in Czech archives in 2001, he had the possibility to prove the authenticity of the document. However, he agrees that the document was not a precise plan containing all necessary details for a massive military operation. Collection: 1964 War Plan Read Document... |
