Note on Integration and Standardization of Arms and Equipment

10 Dec 1976
Description: This is a note on the second agenda point of the ninth session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Sofia in 1976. It addresses questions of standardization and integration of equipment in the Warsaw Pact. The note consists of three parts. First, it defines the terms "integration" and "standardization"; next, it reviews the state of military standardization in East Germany; and third, it presents possible consequences of the CDM's decision on this issue. The organization of military standardization in East Germany does not meet expectations to the full extent.
