Communiqué

22 Oct 1982
Description: This communiqué of the 1982 meeting of Warsaw Pact foreign ministers expresses concern at the escalation of the arms race, with the ministers hoping that the upcoming CSCE meeting in Madrid will serve to renew détente efforts. Support for various disarmament efforts is stated, including arms limitations talks between the United States and Soviet Union. The ministers also call for closer cooperation among Warsaw Pact states. Finally, the ministers condemn Israel's invasion of Lebanon and call for Israel to withdraw from the territories occupied in 1967.
