Special Group on the Future Tasks of the Alliance - Progress Report by the Rapporteurs of Sub-Group 1 (AC/261-D/23)

18 May 1967
Description: This progress report by the rapporteurs of Sub-Group 1 provides an interim assessment of the group's study of the political aims of the alliance. It points to the papers by the British and West German co-rapporteurs suggesting four research topics. It explains that the sub-group discussed East-West relations and the nature of détente, but has yet to address the principles of a European settlement, the German Question, and practical steps and procedures for NATO.
