9 Aug 1980
Description: This report presented to the Politburo of the Bulgarian Communist Party records a conversation between Soviet and Bulgarian leaders Zhivkov and Brezhnev in August 1980 in Crimea. A central point of discussion is the domestic economic situation as well as plans for further economic development and cooperation between the two allies. On an international level, Brezhnev and Zhivkov exchange information on the progress of bilateral disarmament of the USSR and the US, the situation in Yugoslavia after Tito's death, and the forthcoming COMECON's 35th Session and World Peace Council's (WPC) Forum in Sofia. Attached to the report is a resolution by the Bulgarian Politburo approving Zhivkov's statements during the meeting.
