Nuclear, Chemical, and Ballistic Missile Potential of Selected Threshold Countries

Description: This document reviews the potential of several developing countries to acquire weapons of mass destruction. It was prepared by the East German Staatssicherheit (Stasi) intelligence agency. The paper examines whether Israel, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Syria, Argentina, and Brazil have or can develop the ability to produce nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, and ballistic delivery systems. According to the document, Israel, India, and Pakistan have acquired nuclear weapons.
