Report for the Czechoslovak Party Presidium on the PCC Meeting27 May 1980 |
||
Description:
This Czechoslovak evaluation of the 1980 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Warsaw summarizes Brezhnev's speech citing US attempts to split the Socialist countries into different camps. In this regard, the Socialist countries should maintain the current balance of power and stay unified. The evaluation includes the divergent views of the Romanian delegation, e.g. on the aggravation of the international political situation (for which the Soviet Union is partially blamed) and on relations with China, and also mentions the Romanian refusal to support the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
