Opinion of East Germany

Description: This is an East German view on the state and development of NATO's armed forces in the European theater of war. It was presented at the 21st session of the Warsaw Pact's (WP) Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in Moscow 1988. The focus is on the development of the West German armed forces and infrastructure. According to this document, West Germany is consolidating its position as the strongest conventional force in Western Europe, maintaining nuclear weapons delivery capabilities, and improving its defense readiness.
