Description:
This report was sent by East German Defense Minister Heinz Hoffmann to East German leader Erich Honecker. It describes the ninth session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Sofia in 1976. The CDM meeting discussed the state and development of the NATO forces, the unification and standardization of armament items, and the realization of confidence-building measures at the Conference for Security and Cooperation in Europe (CSCE).
