Conclusions and Proposals Drawn from the Lessons Learned from Troops' Combat Actions in Local Wars and Conflicts (Presentation)

11 Jan 1983
Description: This report by the chief of staff of the United Armed Forces (UAF), Anatoli Gribkov, discusses the effective use of land, air, and naval forces in armed conflicts. The report was presented during the 15th session of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Defense in Prague. Gribkov draws conclusions from the experiences of the Iran-Iraq war, the Lebanon war, and the Falkland Islands war. The report provides an analysis of military planning and of military command, control, and communications. According to Gribkov, the lessons learned from these conflicts should become part of the UAF's military training and exercises.
