Subject: The Consultation of the Warsaw Pact Deputy Foreign Ministers on the Political Situation in the South-Aftican Region

Description: This report summarizes the discussions on problems in the South African region at the Moscow meeting of the Warsaw Pact's (WP) deputy foreign ministers: the apartheid regime in South Africa and developments in occupied Namibia, as well as the situation in Angola, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe. The report reviews further issues discussed by the deputy foreign ministers, such as the support given by Socialist countries to African liberation movements and ways of enhancing Socialist influence in South Africa.
