State of the Warsaw Pact's Integrated Air Defense System and Measures for further Consolidation (Abstract)

29 Nov 1977
Description: This summary presents the main theses of a report on the state and development of the air defense system of the Warsaw Pact (WP). The report is given by the head of the WP air defense forces, Marshal Pavel Batitskii, at the tenth session of the WP Committee of Defense Ministers in Budapest in 1977. It offers details on how the air forces and air defense forces of the WP and NATO are developing, with a focus on technical equipment, defense readiness, training, and infrastructure. Batitskii calls for a qualitative improvement of the WP air defense capabilities because NATO is introducing a new generation of warplanes and technical systems.
