East German Ideas Concerning a Nuclear Weapons-Free Zone in Central Europe: Memorandum on Negotiations with the West German Social Democratic Party

Description: This memorandum for East German Chief of Staff Fritz Streletz addresses the creation of a nuclear weapons-free zone in Central Europe. The leaders of the East German Socialist Unity Party (SED) intend to discuss this issue in their next meeting with leaders of the West German Social Democratic Party (SPD) in Bonn. The SED does not intend to negotiate certain SPD demands regarding a nuclear weapons-free zone.
