Report on the 15th Meeting of the CMD

Description: This is a report from East German Minister of Defense Heinz Hoffmann to East German head of state Erich Honecker. It reviews the discussions of the 15th session of the Warsaw Pact (WP) Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in Prague, including: i) the use of new weapons systems, ii) the modernization of the air forces, and iii) the improvement of the military command-and-control systems of the United Armed Forces. Hoffmann summarizes his discussions with Soviet Defense Minister Dmitri Ustinov and reports on a private gathering of all WP defense ministers with the general secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Gustáv Husák.
