Report by the Minister of National Defense (Lajos Czinege) to the HSWP Political Committee on Negotiations with the Supreme Commander of the UAF (Marshal Andrei Grechko) of 21-27 October 1964

6 Nov 1964
Description: This report by Hungarian Minister of Defense Lajos Czinege to the Political Committee of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party (HSWP) provides information on Hungary's military planning and targets between 1966 and 1970. Proposed by the supreme commander of the United Armed Forces, Marshal Andrei Grechko, and approved by Moscow, the agenda includes improving the Hungarian People's Army by providing the necessary reserves and establishing a military headquarters. Due to the lack of financial resources, Hungary will be unable to meet the requirements set by the UAF. Moscow agrees to delay compliance.
