Description:
This report on a meeting of the rapporteurs of the four sub-groups in Königswinter on 21 July 1967 summarizes the main points of discussion as follows: (i) confirmation of the continuing necessity of NATO's military role, (ii) the role of the alliance in the context of détente, (iii) the alliance's security policy in the short, medium, and long term, and (iv) the role of NATO outside the treaty area.
