Note Regarding the Presentation of the Soviet Draft Document Relating to European Security to be Adopted at the Prague Conference of the PCC of the Warsaw Treaty

Description: This note records an interview between Romanian First Deputy Foreign Minister George Macovescu and Soviet ambassador Lev Mendelevich, assigned with delivering the Soviet draft document on European security to be adopted at the forthcoming Political Consultative Committee meeting. The draft presents an analysis of the general situation in Europe and trends in relations between the Socialist and the Western European countries. It also gives, for the first time in a joint document, prominence to the stance of the Warsaw Pact countries on reduction in armed forces and armaments.
