This is a transcript of a speech given by East German leader Erich Honecker at the 1972 Political Consultation Committee (PCC) meeting in Prague. He underlines the following points: (i) the need to begin immediately with preparations for the European security conference; (ii) views on the diplomatic recognition of East Germany in Western Europe and as a member of the UN system, (iii) the revisionist position of West Germany, (iv) and the necessity of collective discussions regarding European security on the principles of border integrity.
