Speech by the General Secretary of the KSČ (Miloš Jakeš)

Description: This is the transcript of a speech by Miloš Jakeš made at the 1988 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting. He assesses the changes in socialist development positively and argues in favor of state controlled democratization. He also underlines his support for disarmament and nuclear and conventional force reduction in Europe and outlines the proposal for a nuclear-free corridor in Central Europe. However, he also speaks of the need to ensure socialist unity and cooperation.
