Information Report

26 Apr 1984
Description: This is a report on the 1984 meeting of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) in Budapest. The key issues are the US deployment of intermediate-range nuclear forces in Europe and US-Soviet negotiations on disarmament. The report states that Romania objects to almost every item of the planned communiqué. The participants reject a Polish proposal to extend the ambit of the Warsaw Treaty. The report also includes summaries of the speeches delivered by the Warsaw Pact foreign ministers.
