Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Study on "The Soviet Draft Concerning European Security to be Adopted at the Prague PCC Meeting"

Description: This note issued by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs addresses the preliminary discussions on the Soviet draft on European security cooperation to be adopted at the Prague meeting of the Political Consultative Committee (PCC). The Soviet declaration of Prague aims to promote the ideas of Socialism, to promote détente, and to facilitate the organization of a conference on European security. The document states that not only the Warsaw Pact member countries, but also West Germany and the Scandinavian countries are making efforts to improve the relationship between East and West and support the process of disarmament, while NATO, on the other hand, is considering re-arming.
