Speech by the Hungarian Foreign Minister (Gyula Horn)

Description: This is a transcript of a speech given by the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs Gyula Horn at a 1989 meeting of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) in Warsaw. Gyula Horn discusses Hungary's democratization process and mentions the political, social, and economic reforms carried out in other countries that are members of the alliance. He refers to the disarmament efforts at international level and salutes the US-Soviet dialog. According to Horn, the Warsaw Pact countries must concentrate on new issues, including economic integration, human rights, and the rights of ethnic minorities.
