Appendix: Draft Treaty Regarding the Prevention of the Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons

Description: This appendix contains a draft version of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty to be presented at the forthcoming Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Sofia, before being submitted to the Geneva Disarmament Conference. The main conditions of the treaty are: (i) no state that has nuclear arms and is party to the treaty shall in any way transfer nuclear weapons to another, nor assist in their manufacture, and no non-nuclear state that is party to the treaty shall undertake to receive such weapons, and (ii) all parties to the treaty shall have the right to participate in the exchange of equipment, materials, and scientific and technological information for the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
