Description: This is a report on the 1986 meeting of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Ministers of Foreign Affairs (CMFA) in Bucharest. The dominant topic is the preceding summit of CPSU Secretary-General Mikhail Gorbachev and US President Ronald Reagan. It includes a briefing of the Warsaw Pact foreign ministers on the US-Soviet summit delivered by Soviet Foreign Minister Edvard Shevardnadze before the CMFA meeting. Also included are summaries of the respective ministers' speeches at the meeting.
