Description:
These are the minutes of the 25th session of the Warsaw Pact's (WP) Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in East Berlin in 1990. Questions discussed include the 35th anniversary of the WP and the state and development of the WP's armed forces. Regarding the first point, the stabilizing role of the WP is stressed. With respect to the second point, the qualitative improvement and enhanced defensive capabilities of the armed forces are stressed. Included is a summary of statements made during the CMD's discussions. Issues include German unification and the future implications of membership in the WP. Collection: Defense Ministers
