||
Description:
This is the summary of a report on the standardization and integration of military equipment in the Warsaw Pact (WP). The head of the WP Technical Committee, I. A. Fabrikov, presented the report during the ninth session of the WP Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Sofia in 1976. He discusses the introduction of integrated weapons systems into the Warsaw Pact armies. Some of these armaments have been delivered by the Soviet Union, while others are the result of combined efforts of the alliance members. Fabrikov identifies a need for military standardization, but is not aware of any working system that would resolve the problems in this area, and identifies several unresolved issues.
