Description:
This document presents two operational plans, OPLAN 4243 and OPLAN 4244, originating from the US V Army Corps. It was prepared by the East German Stasi (Staatssicherheit) intelligence agency. OPLAN 4243 establishes support for the NATO commander of ground forces in Schleswig-Holstein and Jutland (COMLANDJUT) with "atomic demolition ammunition" (nuclear mines) supplied by the US Army V Corps. OPLAN 4244 establishes support for the NATO commander North (COMNORTHAG) with nuclear mines, also to be supplied by the US V Army Corps. Both plans contain details about the forces, means, equipment, and transport involved.
