Speech by the East German Head of State (Erich Honecker)

Description: This is a transcript of a speech given by the East German leader Erich Honecker at the 1974 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Warsaw. He speaks in favor of combat-readiness in spite of détente, and urges Romania to show more solidarity. He then gives an overview of political relations with West Germany and the situation in West Berlin. Additionally, he assesses the international situation with regard to the spread of Socialism and threats by the US and China.
