Description:
This report by Bulgarian Minister of Defense Dobri Djurov and Minister of Foreign Affairs Petar Mladenov states that the Bulgarian and Soviet position on defining the limitations of the conventional forces and armaments reduction in the Trans-Caucasus and Turkey is that the data about the troops and weapons located in those territories should be included in the totals defining and comparing the military potential of the Warsaw Pact and NATO. Turkey insists that the whole Trans-Caucasus region should be included in the negotiations, but categorically opposes the inclusion of most of its Asian territory. The Soviet Union and Bulgaria receive little support from their Warsaw Pact allies, while the Turkish position is energetically supported by all NATO countries.
