Description:
This is a memorandum of conversation between India’s Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the Prime Minister of the Soviet Union Nikolai Bulganin on 8 June 1955. The leaders discuss the general state of international affairs and their individual countries’ foreign relations, including the upcoming Geneva Summit as well as US and Soviet policies leading up to the meeting. The two also discuss the positive state of Indo-Soviet relations and touch on issues of industrial and agricultural cooperation, the tense situation around Taiwan and the inception of negotiations aimed at more formalized relations between both countries.
