Summary of the Second Agenda Item

4 Dec 1978
Description: This summary presents the main points of a report on the development of the Warsaw Pact (WP) forces from 1981-1985, delivered at the 11th session of the Warsaw Pact's Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in East Berlin in 1978. Due to problems in the field of weapons and equipment, the WP has to improve its material basis. This refers mainly to the introduction of new armaments and the improvement of its organization and defense readiness. This is discussed in detail for all main branches of the military.
