East Germany's Views on the Fourth Agenda Item

1 Dec 1986
Description: This summary presents key elements of a report by the East German Ministry of Defense on the state and development of NATO's infrastructural preparations in the European theater of war. The report was delivered at the 19th session of the Warsaw Pact's (WP) Committee of Ministers of Defense (CMD) in Warsaw 1986. It is assessed that due to high investments, NATO has achieved a high level of preparedness. The discussion of NATO's eighth infrastructural program and of the preparations in Western Europe illustrates this assessment.
