Implementation of Decisions Made at the 1989 Bucharest PCC Summit on Improving Allied Terrritorial and Naval Forces (Presentation)

14 Jun 1990
Description: This is a statement on the state and development of the East German armed forces in a radically changing environment. The statement was presented during the 25th session of the Warsaw Pact's (WP) Committee of Ministers of Defense in East Berlin in 1990. The document outlines how unilateral reductions and reduced spending have changed and will change the East German armed forces. However, due to the rapid changes, no binding statements can be made regarding long-term planning. The importance of the Vienna negotiations on conventional disarmament is stressed, as is the importance of amicable and long-standing relations within the WP.
