Declaration by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Hungarian People's Republic (András Hegedüs) at the Meeting of the Political Consultative Committee

Description: This declaration by the Hungarian chairman of the Council of Ministers, András Hegedüs, gives an evaluation of the major events at the international arena in 1955 and praises Soviet foreign policy for its contribution to the lessening of tension in diplomatic relations and promoting peace and security. Hegedüs expresses satisfaction with Hungary's membership in the UN. He advocates both intra-bloc and regional cooperation with other Warsaw Pact countries and the development of economic, political, and cultural cooperation with countries in Asia and Africa, following the Soviet example.
