UK Defense Planning in Fulfillment of NATO Requirements

Description: This document presents information about British armed forces planning before the background of commitments, entered towards NATO. It was prepared by the East German Stasi (Staatssicherheit) intelligence agency. The document gives details about British military planning fundamentals, overall personnel planning, and the specified plans of the British forces for NATO. NATO plays a major role in the defense of the UK, and security policy and major efforts to fulfill its commitments to NATO can be expected. Tables listing facts about the British armed forces are included in the annex.
