Report by the Bulgarian Minister of Foreign Affairs (Petûr Toshev Mladenov) on the PCC Meeting for the Bulgarian Party Politburo

Description: In a report to the Politburo of the Bulgarian Communist Party, Foreign Minister Petûr Mladenov outlines the main issues discussed at the 1987 meeting of the Political Consultative Committee (PCC) in Berlin. He reports that the Bulgarian delegation expressed support for the Soviet initiative to reduce the armed forces and to continue negotiations with the West over complete nuclear and chemical weapons disarmament. Bulgaria also supported the adopted document on overcoming the economic and technological decline in the Socialist countries and the establishment of closer cooperation among them.
