Description:
During continued Romanian-Chinese talks in Beijing, Zhou Enlai expresses his support for the autonomous course inside the Warsaw Pact followed by Bucharest. They commend the Romanians for their decision not to attend the international meeting of Communist parties proposed by the Soviets. According to Zhou, the Romanian position is secretly shared by other Communist parties such as the Polish one.
Zhou also reiterates the Chinese position on a number of open border questions, amongst them the recognition of the independence of Outer Mongolia as well as the opposition to Soviet attitudes on Hongkong and Macau.
