Sixth Interkit Meeting, Moscow, Soviet Union

16 May 1973
Description: This East German report, issued after the sixth Interkit meeting in Moscow, addresses the domestic and foreign policies of China under the leadership of Mao Zedong. Unsolved socio-economic problems and internal party disputes are said to weaken the position of the Chinese leadership. In its international relations, China is believed to strive for superpower status. To reach this goal, it is enhancing its military potential and expanding its relations with Western countries, which is against the interests of the Soviet Union and of the Socialist countries.
