Information Report on the Tenth Session

Description: This report was sent by East German Minister of Defense Heinz Hoffmann to East German head of state Erich Honecker. It informs Honecker about the tenth session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Defense Ministers (CDM) in Budapest in 1977. The CDM discussed the state of the integrated air defense system, the work and structure of the command bodies, and the fulfillment of CDM decisions on civil defense and weapons standardization. Additionally, Hoffmann received suggestions from Soviet Defense Minister Dmitri Ustinov, including a warning from Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev not incur too much debt with the West.
