Report of a Meeting Between the Polish and Soviet Ministries of Defense

28 Jun 1967
Description: In this information report by the Polish Minister of Defense, he recounts his recent talks with his Soviet counterpart Andrei Grechko. The latter explains changes in Soviet military planning as well as projected arms deliveries as a consequence of the re-armament programme for the Arab states in the aftermath of the June 1967 War. Commenting on the question of institutional reforms of the Warsaw Pact, Grechko complains about the lack of progress with respect to the creation of a staff of the Unified Command. An additional subject of the talks are recent covert operations by NATO in the Baltic Sea.
