Draft Text of an Opening Statement of the NATO Secretary General (Manlio Brosio) at the Meeting of the Special Group on 6 March 1967

2 Mar 1967
Description: This draft opening statement of the NATO Secretary General Manlio Brosio at the first Special Group meeting outlines his views on the procedure of the study on Future Tasks of the Alliance. He emphasizes that the Special Group first has to agree on the subjects of the study. With respect to the organization of the study, Brosio proposes that the Special Group study these subjects in succession. The discussion should be based on national papers on these questions, also taking into account minority opinions.
