29 Nov 1977
Description: This document consists of two summaries of reports on the state and development of military command-and-control in the Soviet Union and Poland. The reports are given at the tenth session of the Warsaw Pact Committee of Defense Ministers in Budapest in 1977. Both reports address the military command-and-control system with a focus on its structure, communication system, work methods, and technical equipment. It is stated that the main direction of future development is the introduction of an automated command-and-control system, and steps in this direction in the Polish and Soviet army are reviewed.
