Informational Report on the 11th Session of the CDM

Description: This is a report sent by East German Minister of Defense Heinz Hoffmann to East German leader Erich Honecker, on the results of the 11th session of the Warsaw Pact (WP) Committee of Defense Ministers in East Berlin in 1978. It reports on the development and technical equipment of the WP's United Armed Forces (UAF) and the establishment of a coordinated policy regarding military aid for developing countries. The report broadly reviews opposing Romanian positions voiced during this CDM meeting. It is stressed that the WP must not lag behind NATO in the field of military technology.
