Description:
This document covers NATO's standpoint on developments on its northern flank, especially in Denmark. It was prepared by the East German Stasi (Staatssicherheit) intelligence agency. Included is an evaluation of the Soviet and Warsaw Pact presence in this area, an assessment of the Soviet détente policy and its strategic aims, and an analysis of Denmark's membership in NATO as well as the state of its armed forces.
