||
Description:
This document reports on the proceedings of 6th Congress of the Communist Party of India (7-16 April 1961) in Vijayavada. The Romanian delegates comment on the wide divergence of opinion within the CPI's various factions. The main bones of contention are the relationship of the CPI with the Indian National Congress as well as the Indian-Communist position with respect to the escalating border conflict between India and China.
According to the rapporteurs, the Soviet and Romanian delegations exerted their influence in order to prevent the adoption of a resolution on the border issue by the Congress. Collection: India-Soviet Bloc Relations
