Record of the Decisions of the Political Consultative Committee

24 May 1958
Description: This document records the decisions taken at the 1958 Political Consultative Committee (PCC) meeting in Moscow with regard to the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Romania, the reduction of armed forces of the Warsaw Pact countries, and the approval of a declaration for a nonaggression treaty between the Warsaw Pact and NATO. Further, a decision is taken to replace General Antonov with Diplomat Patolichev as general secretary of the PCC, thus giving the committee a political rather than military character.
