Commentary on the Visit of the Indian Prime Minister (Indira Gandhi) to the Soviet Union

Description: This cable, sent by the Bulgarian Embassy in India, provides a brief commentary on talks between Indira Gandhi and Aleksei Kosygin. It reports on the reaction to the talks by diplomatic circles in Delhi which apparently interpret a statement by Gandhi as signaling Soviet support for Indian policies with respect to East Pakistan.
