Report by East German Defense Minister Heinz Hoffmann on the Invasion of Czechoslovakia

Description: This report by East German Minister of Defense Heinz Hoffmann gives an account of the events in Czechoslovakia in August 1968. Hoffmann explains that due to the lack of internal measures against counterrevolutionary developments at the time, the Warsaw Pact (WP) countries decided on a military invasion of Czechoslovakia. The report also addresses the enhanced security and control measures along the border between East Germany and Czechoslovakia.
