Declaration by the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Bulgarian People's Republic (Raiko Damianov) at the Meeting of the Political Consultative Committee

Description: This declaration by the Bulgarian deputy chairman of the Council of Ministers, Raiko Damianov, expresses readiness to comply with Soviet foreign policy on disarmament and participation in peace initiatives. Damianov reports on the improved relations with other Balkan countries, especially Yugoslavia, and expresses support for Moscow's cooperation with India, Burma, and Afghanistan. He sees the creation of an East German national army as a prerequisite for protecting peace in Europe. Further, he stresses the positive consequences for Bulgaria of its acceptance as a UN member.
