Report on the Visit of the Indian Prime Minister (Rajiv Gandhi) to the Soviet Union

Description: This document reports on the visit of Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi to the Soviet Union in July 1989. Gandhi presents himself critical towards the policies of the US administration under George HW Bush. Both sides agree on further cooperation with respect to the Asiatic-Pacific space, also touching on relations with China. The Indian side also criticizes the Pakistani stance vis-à-vis Afghanistan. The conversation also covered recent internal developments in both countries.
